How to Convert a Fraction to a Percent
- Divide the numerator by the denominator:
a / b. - Multiply the decimal by 100.
- Add the percent sign:
(a / b) × 100%.
Example: 7/20 becomes 7 ÷ 20 = 0.35, then 0.35 × 100 = 35%.
Repeating Percent to Fraction
For repeating percentage values, put the repeating digits in parentheses. Examples: 33.(3) means 33.333...%, 16.(6) means 16.666...%, and 8.(3) means 8.333...%. This gives exact fraction results instead of rounded decimal approximations.
