What does the Estonian sickness benefit calculator estimate?
It estimates employer-paid sickness benefit for temporary incapacity for work using the sick leave period, employer-compensated days, benefit rate and average daily wage data.
Which wage amount should I enter?
Enter the income for the preceding six months that has become collectible before the sickness benefit calculation. Exclude days for which wages were not calculated in the suspension field.
How is income tax handled?
The calculator applies 22 percent income tax for sick leave starting in 2025 or later, and 20 percent for earlier years.
Can the result be used as an official payroll amount?
No. The calculator is for planning and checking. Actual payroll treatment can depend on employment data, current rules and official guidance.
