How is the monthly lease payment calculated?
The vehicle price is reduced by the down payment and the residual value is excluded from the amortized principal. The financed amount is spread over the lease term at the annual interest rate to give a payment before tax, and the selected VAT or tax rate is then added to each instalment.
Does the result include VAT?
If you select a tax country or enter a manual rate, the estimated monthly payment includes that VAT or tax. If you choose "Calculate before tax", the result is the payment before tax only.
Can I enter a custom tax rate?
Yes. For a preset country you can edit the standard rate, and you can reset it back to the standard rate at any time. For countries without a preset, choose "Other country / manual tax" and enter your own rate.
Why is my country not available?
A verified simplified lease preset is only enabled for a reviewed list of countries. For other countries you can enter an estimated tax rate manually or calculate the payment before tax. A country having a VAT rate does not automatically enable a lease preset.
Is the residual value included in the monthly payment?
No. The residual value is excluded from the amortized principal, which is why it lowers the monthly payment. It is shown separately and would be payable at the end only if you choose to buy the vehicle.
Does this include registration fees and insurance?
No. This is a simplified payment estimator. Registration taxes, special vehicle taxes, dealer fees, insurance and maintenance are not included, and actual lease terms may differ by country, provider and contract.
